Tax Benefits

When you donate to a 501(c)(3) organization, most of your donations are tax-deductible, which makes your donation both generous and a good financial decision.

If you itemize your return, the IRS rules for gifting enable you to deduct contributions between 30% and 50% of your adjusted gross income or AGI (generally defined as your gross income minus allowable deductions), depending on the type of asset donated and the type of organization you choose. Consult your team of professionals – including your Edward Jones financial advisor, attorney and tax advisor – to help you determine which one(s) make sense for you.

About Us

Based in New Orleans, Silence the Violence Foundation is a youth organization focused on violence prevention and education. We plan on reaching our goal by bringing local youth ministries together with government, police, and business organizations, creating a powerful coalition that is dedicated to stopping the violence.

Our founder, Pastor Christiana Ford, started this organization after being inspired by the Lord. She wondered what more could be done to change this cycle of violence, so she created a talent show to support the dreams of the youth in her community. The show is designed to transform negative energy into positive energy, encouraging young men and women to live healthy, God-filled lives.
